A portrait I started about a year ago as an attempt to make a vibey realistic-looking face that'd be very similar to the reference photos.
I used camera lineup with an image plane in Mudbox and later Photoshop to check against the original photo. It was a tricky one but got there through doing A LOT of iterations.
The beads were made in Houdini using a Chain Sop. Probably the first thing I made in Houdini that actually worked haha :)
And finally I used a vFace from texturing xyz for skin shading. Highly recommend the asset, I loved working with all the super detailed maps and having so much control over what I'm doing
